What Is IV Therapy?
Intravenous, or IV therapy, is a treatment modality in which nutrients are introduced to the body through a vein. IV nutritional therapy makes it easier for clinicians to help patients reach therapeutic levels, in which the nutrients delivered have the greatest effect. It is at these therapeutic nutritional levels, where inflammation can be reversed and the body can be brought back into a state of balance and towards wellness. This is because the nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream and can flood cells instantly ensuring optimal absorption. This often requires high concentrations that are only achievable intravenously.
Like every individual, each IV treatment is customized for each patient to ensure that each formula will target each patient's condition. Each nutritional IV contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids or antioxidants to increase vitality, decrease inflammation and promote wellness.
How Does it Work?
Even the highest quality oral supplement being consumed by a person with healthy intestinal tracts will only allow about 15-25% absorption. Once absorbed, these nutrients get processed at the liver, which destroys another portion of supplements through metabolism. IV nutrition bypasses the gastrointestinal tract and the liver, providing 100% absorption.
There are dozens of conditions that IV Therapy can be used for, including: Cancer, Depression, Insomnia, and Weight Loss.
Generally, treatments take anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours depending on the formula. Your naturopath will determine which formula is appropriate for your specific health picture.
Our clinicians have years of experience placing IVs and will make you most comfortable during the treatment. We have topical numbing agents to apply on the skin to ensure comfort, as well as homeopathic remedies one can take before treatment to reduce nerves and increase relaxation.
