Dr. Karen Cureton is a board certified naturopathic physician and acupuncturist with a passion for helping people achieve optimal health, no matter what condition they find themselves in. Dr. Cureton is well versed in both preventative health care and treatment of complex chronic disease. She sees patients of all ages for both acute and chronic conditions.

Dr. Cureton's path to this profession began in college when she found herself suddenly beset with disabling symptoms that hindered her ability to enjoy her life. After exploring the conventional medical model, and finding little help there, Dr. Cureton was lucky enough to find a naturopathic physician to help her regain her health. After working with a naturopath to reinstate her previous state of wellness, trying nearly every integrative treatment modality, she has discovered the most effective therapies to aid others along their healing journeys. This journey to health using the power of functional medicine and ancient healing techniques has given her both the tools and passion for helping others overcome whatever obstacles may stand between them and true vitality.

Philosophy:

Dr. Cureton considers symptoms as signs of underlying imbalance in the body, mind, or spirit. Rather than treating the symptoms, she seeks to treat the roots of the imbalance. Because each person is unique, so are their heathcare needs, and Dr. Cureton creates individualized treatment plans to fit. These treatment plans are created in partnership with her patients because ultimately, the power to heal, rests in the hands of each individual. Most importantly, Dr. Cureton believes that every person deserves to live life in full vibrancy, and assists her patients in achieving and maintaining that vital state. By offering compassionate, attentive care and empowering her patients to take control of their health, Dr. Cureton helps to eliminate the symptoms preventing her patients from living life completely.

Approach:

Through careful history taking, thorough physical exam, cutting-edge laboratory testing, and ancient Chinese diagnostic methods, Dr. Cureton determines the root of health issues and best methods to promote healing. She utilizes a variety of treatment methods including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathic remedies, biotherapeutic drainage, flower essences, acupuncture, energetic bodywork, lifestyle counseling, low dose immunotherapy/low dose antigen therapy, biopuncture, compounded medicines, and pharmaceuticals.
